The brut

The Brut Chair is named for exactly what it is raw, resolved, and without apology.

Where other chairs reach for attention through detail, the Brut refuses it entirely. No visible legs. No decorative stitching. No curves that exist for aesthetics alone. Just a clean tub form in deep espresso leather, sitting on a solid plinth base that roots it to the floor with the permanence of something that was always meant to be exactly there.

The leather is the whole story. Deep, dark, aged at the edges in the way that only real leather ages not uniformly, not predictably, but with the particular character of a material that remembers every hour it has been used. Run your hand along the arm and you understand immediately why nothing else was needed.

The form is architectural in the truest sense. Straight where it needs to be straight. Curved only at the back, where the tub wraps around the sitter with just enough give to make it human. The plinth base eliminates the visual interruption of legs entirely — the chair simply begins at the floor and rises from it like a block of cut stone.

This is the chair for the room that is done adding things. The room that knows the difference between decoration and intention.
